Understanding this concern, Zomato has introduced ‘Buy Now, Sell Later’, a first-of-its-kind feature on an Indian ticketing platform. This new functionality allows users to book event tickets early and resell them later at a price determined by the user, within limits set by event organizers. With this feature, Zomato aims to offer greater flexibility and peace of mind to its customers.

Many event-goers hesitate to book tickets in advance due to uncertainties around their availability. Traditional ticketing platforms require users to make a firm commitment at the time of purchase, with limited options to resell or transfer tickets. This often results in lost money or missed opportunities when plans unexpectedly change.

The Solution: 'Buy Now, Sell Later'
To maximize ticketing flexibility, Zomato introduced three key features:
- Book in Advance – Users can purchase tickets to an event through the Zomato app without hesitation.
- Sell Anytime – If plans change, users can list their ticket for resale at a price of their choosing (within the cap set by the event organizers).
- Seamless Transaction – Interested buyers can purchase these listed tickets directly through the platform, making the process smooth and hassle-free.
The Impact: Empowering Event-Goers with Flexibility
By introducing this feature, Zomato ensures that users no longer need to second-guess their event bookings. The ability to resell tickets fosters confidence in early purchases, ultimately benefiting both customers and event organizers by increasing early ticket sales.
The feature will go live on the Zomato app a few weeks before the Zomato Feeding India Concert, marking its debut with a major event. This launch represents another step towards Zomato’s commitment to building a customer-first platform and enhancing the event ticketing experience in India.
